The Meat Room

The meatroom is a restaurant that has all kinds of meats, hence the name. Surprising it does vegiterian but limeted on the menu. The spareribs are really good and where tender and slided off the bone. The only down side is that due the restaurant prepares a lot of meat in a certain way the, restaurant became blue with smoke and this can impact vistors with astma and such, also clothing will smell due the smoke, so be mind full of certain clothing you wear. The food and service are great and would come here again!

We decided spontaneously to eat in the city and they had enough plaice around 6 in the evening, later it became h more busy. You order here meat, sides and sauce separately and they totally deserve separate attention, chimichurry is so well balanced, one portion of fries is enough for two. But the main center of attention is of course meat, you will get educated help to decide which piece suits your taste even if you are an inexperienced stake eater. We had t-bone, brisket and romp stake, they all had been cooked exactly as ordered and of great quality. The waiters are very friendly and have great sense of humor.

We've been here so many times, from lunch to dinner, and they never disappoint. The service is always great, friendly and attentive, and the food has always been tasty and worth the price. I wish there was a bit more variety in desserts, but no complaints in taste either - the apple tart is my favourite! Meats are always on point and lunch is a great way to test the waters without spending too much. The quatity/quality ratio here is also fantastic. One of our favourite places in Leeuwarden for sure!

Had a great meal here, the meat was very VERY tender and it tasted great. My son got a quick tour behind the scenes, which was a great gesture. The cheesecake was also very nice, so make sure to keep some room!

It's a restaurant you can't miss if you visit Leeuwarden. The food is of very good quality and very well prepared. We were very surprised by the vegan meat, which they explained is made in Utrecht with a 3D food printer! It's delicious! The burger is also very good. We were a group of 15 people, and everyone was very happy with the dinner. If we return to Leeuwarden, we will come back!

The dry‑aged meats were beautifully curated and expertly prepared over a Josper grill, and the menu as a whole showed real care for quality and sourcing. I started with a standout burger that balanced flavour, texture, and mindful sourcing, and finished with a dessert that was the perfect ending to the evening—light yet satisfying. What really impressed me was the staff’s attentiveness and knowledge of the menu. They guided the choices, suggested pairings, and checked in just the right amount, making the dinner feel elevated yet relaxed. For me, experiences like this perfectly reflect why I love exploring food—it's not just about the dish, but about culture, connection, and the joy of sharing a meal with others. The Meat Room offered exactly that: a space where craftsmanship meets experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a memorable evening, whether with friends, family, or colleagues.
